John Pollard, Founder
Sequoia Construction was founded by John Pollard, a third generation builder with extensive experience in residential construction. His comprehensive knowledge of the California and International Building Codes coupled with his ability to guide a team of expert craftsmen, ensures our projects are completed to the highest standard of quality. John holds California contractor licenses in General Building, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Heating and General Engineering.

Chris Seitz, General Foreman Supervisor
Chris is accomplished in giving our projects that "Better Homes and Gardens" look. With his master finish carpentry skills, knowledge of color pallet schemes, painting, crown molding, and historical architectural knowledge, he makes interiors and exteriors look picture perfect. Chris's expert eye for the perfect finish and fifteen years experience make him our decision maker for completing work on San Francisco Edwardian and Victorian homes.


Nathan Huber, Chief of Design and Installation
Nathan is the chief designer and installer of our Radiant, Solar, and Geothermal heating systems. To date he has completed over 2200 Geo Thermal, Radiant, Hydro Air, and DHW systems. Nathan holds certification as an oil, gas, refrigeration, and air conditioning (HVACR) technician. ÊHe is trained and certified to work with over 20 different boilers and heating transfer systems, and has extensive experience installing both small and large scale custom radiant systems. Some of his recent work includes a small artist studio in Marin, a 30,000 sq. ft. house in the heart of San Francisco and multi unit buildings looking to redesign their outdated and inefficient central heating systems.

Rachel Abraham Pollard,
is John's sister and CFO for Sequoia Construction. She oversees day-to-day accounting, finance, job costing, property management, investor relations, and our special inspections division. Her expertise working with Department of Building Inspections, Department of Public Works, and SF Planning Dept, make her an invaluable member of the team.



Cody VanValkenburgh, Director of Operations,
works directly with clients and the company's principal during the life cycle of each project through to successful completion. Mr. VanValkenburgh oversees the financial controls of all active projects, and supervises the day-to-day activities of the engineering, permitting, construction, project management, administrative, and accounting staffs. Cody functionally and administratively acts as a liaison to President John Pollard, but maintains a close working relationship with the project managers and rest of the team. He has been working in the construction and development management field for close to ten years.

Jeanette "J.Byrd" Hosch
has worked for John for close to ten years. She is an accomplished Office Manager capable of handling details and keeping our office running smoothly.
